How does resizing by width or height work?
Enter a target width or height. The other dimension follows the original aspect ratio. Each image stays within its original dimensions and is never enlarged.
Will every image reach the target size?
The tool tries reducing quality and resolution. If it still exceeds your target at the minimum dimensions, the result is clearly marked. Targets cannot always be reached.
Why does PNG offer different color counts?
PNG first tries lossless optimization, then offers lossy RGB color-quantized options while preserving transparency. Large images skip color quantization. Target-size mode uses lossless encoding and reduces dimensions when needed.
Can I use GIF or HEIC files?
This version supports static JPG, PNG and WebP. Animated GIF, HEIC and SVG are not supported.
